No, the absolute paths depend upon the container (e.g. Tomcat, or IIS or Apache...) configuration, and Jaxcent doesn't know the container-specific mapping.  So the page path has to be the URL.

Thanks a lot for the reply....

Sorry, but by absolute path, I mean absolute URLs. For example, if the servlet is located in the URL: http://192.168.1.1/JaxcentServlet21, is there any way to map a html page located in http://192.168.1.2/Hello.html to sample.Hello class? As I figured out, the html files should be located only in the sub domain that the servlet is located in. Is it correct?

Thanks again,
Habib

It seems that Jaxcent wants to enfore the same origin policy. Is any
one else limited by this policy?

Technically, it could be handled by modifying the Jaxcent code to check if
the URL is absolute and then matching against that - but right now it's not
supported. / Mukesh

Dear Mukesh,

I found a function called parseConfigFile in the JaxcentConfig.java
file. Is it the right place to add the feature?

Cheers,
Habib

Habib, That's just the parsing, the method JaxcentContext.newConnection
does the lookup from the map "urlMap". The map is built from the relative
URLs, and the lookup is also from the relative URLs, so they will both have
to be modified for absolute URL lookup?

Btw, can you explain the requirement that led to this? Could you just
instead look into having two separate Jaxcent instances (not sure right now
what would be involved in that, but could be less work.)

Thanks for the information about the place that should be modified.

About the requirement, I have a web application developed by languages
such as php or asp and a Jaxcent server which sends signals to the pages
of the application at some desired times. Since language of my
application and the Jaxcent differ, I prefer to deploy them upon
different servers, though I could use the provided connectors.

Thanks,
Habib
