I have seen that there are no plans on creating a Linux port of this
software but can't find any information that discusses other KVM
software that would be compatible with ID for Windows. I am currently
running two Windows machines and want to wipe one and install Linux.
Will I be able to use ID on windows and then another such as Synergy
on Linux? Will they communicate?

Hi,

No, Input Director and Synergy do not interoperate. You're best off installing Synergy on both systems.
