Is there a way to share audio between computers?

I would love to be able to pull Skype sound and mic from one PC to another. I'm doing Skype on one machine and gaming on another. I'd like to have ONE headset that I could do the mic and sound for both!

Stardock has an app for that I saw the other day.

howabout a small 2-track audio mixer. honestly, i think you will find it more flexible.

That might be true if I wasn't using a bluetooth headset. I want to share the mic and the sound. I've tried the mixer. It didn't go well and costs most than a software option.

Well admittedly, a software option that, as far as I can tell, doesn't exist.

It only gives sound, no mic, but quick, easy and cheap.

I have a wire running from audio out on my slave to audio in on my master.  The speakers on my master put out everything from both computers.  I have no idea if the mic could be similarly wired.

For anyone else wondering... it's called Acoustic Bridge by Stardock.

Thanks! Unfortunately it only does speakers not mic too! I really need both.

The Stardock people have the sound sharing feature built into their version of Input Director. It's called Multiplicty (for $40) http://www.stardock.com/products/multiplicity/download.asp

That's a good point. Wonder if I could bring it all in on my Master from the slave and run a software mixer/mic setup.

I had to buy a separate mic.  I could find away to share my wireless headset.

What I did was run an audio cable from Audio Out (this would be your speakers normally) on the “Mic PC” to the Audio In (this would be your mic normally) on my “Gaming PC”.

Then on the gaming PC made sure in the recording tab (Windows sound – assuming you are using Windows) on the mixer for the mic is set to the Audio In port and not the mic on my headset.

This for me has worked out well, because I can control the volume of Skype/Vent independently.  Some people talk too quietly.   J

Hope this helps.
