We're not seeing a lot of bug reports against 1.4, and I know that
there are several people who are using it successfully, so my
inclination would be to recommend 1.4.

Probably I'm missing something, but it's not clear to me how people could/should get 1.4 at this point?

As far as I can tell there's no hobo 1.4 gem anywhere.

There was a testing-1.4 branch at github/tablatom/hobo but that seems to have been dropped/squashed.

So should folks pull from the 1.4.pre7, latest master, or use the rails-3.2 branch?

At the moment there's very little difference between 1.4.0.pre7,
master and rails-3.2 except for the rails-3.2 support on the rails-3.2
branch.

The easiest way to install is via

gem install hobo -v 1.4.0.pre7

so you might as well go with that unless you are feeling a little bit
adventurous and want to try rails 3.2.
