I just wanted to also note that Hobo is really amazing. I have done a
few Rails projects and what Hobo does is quite amazing. Nothing gives
you that dynamic smartness that Hobo has. There is no gem that can
match the automatic migrations for activerecord. Plus the workflows
are unmatched. The various state machine plugins don't come close to
doing the automatic pages with routes that Hobo does.

Dryml is of course the cornerstone of Hobo though. It probably gives
people the most trouble though. It is a bit tough to learn all the
ins & outs, but it is really one of the templating languages that is
truly DRY.

Anyway it is a lot of work for the developers. It is a great
project. I have only used it on a project that don't have any revenue
yet. If we start to get a real product I hope to contribute.

Has a PDF of the latest manual also been released? If so, where can this be found?

Thanks,

Thanks for you input, Ankur. How to make DRYML ( or son-of-DRYML) easier to learn and use is a big thing.

Perhaps having a 100 good use cases might push things along.  Having the cycles to document the Questions -  and then to good answers - from the links of Bryan, Kevin, Domizio, etc.

You can find a draft BETA at:

And the new LATex/LyX version (still being edited/enhanced at:

Thanks again to Kevin Potter for migrating the Word doc and including the edits that Suzannah provided.

LyX is open source and runs on most platforms:

BTW, Brian Absetz is going through each tutorial again and will be updating the version in the GItHub Repo.  We will also be editing style, etc.

Any suggestions for a new cover graphic would be much appreciated!

You can help by posting errata at:

If you download the zip file instead of cloning the repo:

1. Unzip the file
2. From LyX, opent the master "Hobo.lyx" file
3. LyX will load all of the associated files
4. On the Mac, "COMMAND-R" will generate a PDF
