It was labeled "Extreme Environment". No 6" widths but a lot of tape for a low price nonetheless.
What's your opinion?

Does that have plastic backing, or is it just sticky fiberglass mesh?

It's just mesh.

That tape is a variety of the stuff used for doing sheetrock work, it's designed to stick and hold a coat of paint, but it's not intended for structural applications, I'm afraid.

I suspected it wasn't up to the task. Thanks for your advice all.

this is a tape for finishing drywall (sheetrock) and has no adhesive

it is designed to be held in place with sheetrock compound as part of the drywall installation process

it might be strong enough to create a seam for a hexayurt, but would require some sort of adhesive or glue to hold it in place, as drywall compound would not work in this application

interesting idea, but probably not ready for playa time

Usually it's tacky, enough to hold it in place while you paint/spackle etc. over it. Worst case: buy a roll and test!

Wow, I would never use the tape/joint compound in any application involving mechanical strength or movement. Even if you could get it to stick and hold, the MOOP when you disassembled…
