Look familiar?

Does anybody have the time to figure out what, exactly, they think they patented? There ought to be a patent application somewhere visible, if it's been granted.

Thanks to Nick Raaum for bringing this to my attention.

Vinay

Sorry, Jeb Bateman pointed this out - I had the wrong email open. Thanks, Jeb!

I couldn't find the patent application, but this might be what their referring to:
"Our 7.5”thick proprietary exterior wall design has a built in system for eliminating moisture condensation."
It would be interesting to contact UNR to see if they knew about the design's origin.

It's just another 70's dome with wood framing. Nothing looks new at all really.
Somebody gave him money for this?

Anyway...

Patent US20070028531 - Haven House - Google Patents - http://bit.ly/PTvAbc

Even his name is unoriginal. There is another "Haven" house patented already.
His patent is "pending" so it prob. won't show up yet as it has not been granted.

Also, no word back from Rafael or World Shelters about a US price for an Ubershelter T-Shel2
No response to email from either one. Classy.

I haven't worked out the geometry yet, and not sure if it's using the
hexayurt signature 4x8 diag hex roof panel geometry in a unique way.
At least looks inspired by the ubiquitous burning man structure, and I
hope to learn more soon since I live nearby.

Love the idea of a real pre-fab house that is designed ground up for
super efficiency and off-grid placement though. So much better than
standard houses. In fact, I have an off-grid building site in SW
Missouri that might be perfect for this.

Looking at the geometry again, I don't think it's the same as the quad-dome, as the right angle triangles appear not to be vertical.
