Sorry Guys,

Didnt have much to go on for the report...Only just got very BRIEF info with no times or placings....
Also only have my phone to do this on at moment...
I know its short but best can do with the short time available......:-(

Sunday 1st July and on a typical British summers day of wind and rain, it did not stop a record number of runners turning out for the annual Tamworth Gate Gallop 10k.
Unfortunately the weather did stop the race taking part over the official  measured course, the unrelenting rain having left part of the course almost knee deep in water. Hence a quickly revised course with a slightly shorter distance thanks to the Peel runners marshals.
This gave a benefit to the faster runners with Hatton Darts able to shine over the faster grassy fields.
Seven Men and Seven ladies showed willing for the Darts in this Burton and District league race and did not disappoint.
On the day the first 3 ladies took the Team win overall with the men taking a close 2nd. Meanwhile in the BDSL league both the men and women took a deserved win.
With nearly 300taking part and the course being 2 small laps and 3 large laps it made for an “interesting race” as the leaders starting lapping slower runners early on.
Wendy Freeman,73rd overall, Claire Calladine,77th and Pam Chamberlain,112th took the honours for the ladies with Emma Dyson,129th,Helen White,155th,Carol Sharratt,185th, and Harriet Walsh,230th all doing there best for the club.
Meanwhile Stan Knopik 9th, Jason Tilley,10th, and Marc Wrigley 24th took 2nd team prize, with the engine room backup from Paul Mellor,28th, Chris Matthews,42st, Stephen Newton 59th and Jonathan Gregson 62nd.

Please find resent to Mail for Saturdays tamworth race :)

Hatton Darts shot straight to the top of both the Mens and Ladies table in the Burton and District Summer running League as they dominated preceedings at Tamworths home event at the scenic Kingsbury Waterpark.
Whether it was the buzz of New Club vests, the buzz of the thousand chasing mosquitos or the fact the 12k route was more "Cross Country" than multi terrain. The Darts lapped it up with convincing displays throughout the field.
Such was the dominance of Hatton they also won the Open event with the first four men and first first four ladies taking outright victories adding yet more trophies to the Darts now bulging cabinet!
Ashley Hurdman showed allcomers the way with an outstanding run to take first place overall, running the entire course with an average sub 6 minute miling- Gordy Smith sprinted across the line in 4th plac, despite a stomach bug, with a pleasing first Vet trophy to add to his ever growing haul. Stan Knopik and Jason Tilley battled each other over the entire 7.5 miles in a bid to finish top 10 and ensure Hatton took the team silverware with Knopik showing his strength and a pair of heels to Tilley over the final stages. Nigel Elson pushed all the way to take valuable grand priz points,14th with a gap back to short race specialist Mark Wrigley,19th.Nigel Maguire,Paul Mellor and Chris Matthews had a 3 way battle royal taking 27th,28th and 29th respectively whilst John Gregson, loving the boggy conditions fought off stalwart Chris Fletcher for 33rd place. Fletcher happy in his first competetive race for over a year and will only get faster with each race.
The only trophy Hatton didnt secure on the night was first Female, that accolade going to Ivanhoes impressive Laura Johnson, who despite wearing racing flats was able to beat the next lady in by a monstrous 3 minutes! Not to be outdone the Hatton Ladies worked together to take an easy combined points victory. Claire Calladine pounded the mud into submission with a fine 4th place whilst vet55+ Jane Godfrey collapsed over the line for a magnificent 6th.Emma Dyson, getting faster with every race took 10th whilst Carol Sharratt was more than happy to complete the winning team for a satisfying 15th. Lisa Townsend, having ran the conkers 5k race earlier in the morning, did well to finish let alone manage 18th.Harriet Walsh crossed the line in 35th,Doris Fok found the going tough but finished with her usual Darts smile for 38th.

Any complaints - send em straight to me personally please - not the whole group! Ill do my best to deal with it.
Ps i'll remind you again if you have anything special you want me to put in the report...just shout!
