I can't seem to edit anything:

"Set $wgShowExceptionDetails = true; at the bottom of LocalSettings.php to show detailed debugging information."

looks like some php strictness settings got turned on in the server, and a vaguely recent version of mediawiki will stop causing the error. i'll upgrade tonight, we are quite behind anyhow.

Okay, turned out that somehow "allow_fopen_url" had been disabled on the server, and one of the mediawiki plugins, SpamBlacklist, was trying to pull in a list of blacklisted links when checking a new edit.

Now that we require captchas or signin to post external links, we should be okay with this extension disabled.

Upgraded to the latest stable version of MediaWiki in the process, which isn't a bad thing.

Let me know if anything else is awry.

Hi All,

I disabled "allow_fopen_url" for all hosted domains on my server, mainly because it's too easily exploitable if you aren't careful, but I have now enabled it on the hackadl.org domain. Any other settings that need changing to support whatever is needed can be done easily enough once I'm notified.

Cheers

Tim

:)
I've had stuff totally break or issue ugly warnings, on the Ulysses website I maintain, when the host has upgraded PHP.
-Both with major and minor version updates.
Although it is a pain for users, I think it is best all round for hosts to make changes as necessary to keep up to date, and reduce danger to their setup and their clients.

You can leave it off Tim, I worked around it.

But in the unlikely event that I start getting tonnes of wikispam, I'll be in touch ;)
