Hi guys,

I know Pix has been talking about making a Hackerspace Adelaide stamp, but I saw an ad for this deal with Vista Print:
http://www.vistaprint.com.au/business-card-holders-stamps.aspx?GP=11%2f17%2f2012+2%3a26%3a54+AM&GPS=2630187302&GNF=0

Free cards and a free stamp - that's pretty good, no?

I won't be put out if we get a professionally made stamp ;)

Will that deal work with our own card design?

To me it looks like a free holder and stamp with a  "premium cards" purchase, so yeah it'd likely work

They charge about $8 (including delivery) for their free cards, more if you want your own design for the free cards.  I don't know how much their free stamps cost.

I made a few paper copies of the second card on this page:

http://hackerspace-adelaide.org.au/wiki/Business_cards

I even had them at Format today, but forgot all about them.

Yeah, sorry guys.  Damien's right.  Just reading the fine print now, and the 'free' cards are only a very few designs - and it's even more (nearly $12) to use your own design.  My bad.  Next time I'll read the fine print first.

If you want to get a better price, most print shops will do you a deal if you provide your own camera ready artwork.

Do them 4 up, 90 x 55mm, WITH CUT MARKS.

That way all they have to do is meke the plate, print them and cut them in the guillotine.

When you do the cut marks don't do them as continuous lines along each side and don't do them as separate objects.
Do a single cut line along each side then put a white rectangle with a white line over them.

If you want a hand with the layout give me a hoi.

Did we ever end up getting more cards? I was having to ration cards at the MEGA pitch day.

I didn't order any - I can if you will find them useful.  I printed some of these:

They came out fine for when we don't need anything professional looking.  I was supposed to hand them over yesterday but forgot again.
