By "latest Growl from the Mac App Store" what version do you mean specifically?

Which display style are you using?

Woah, 750+ might explain something. Were they all sticky or was this in rollup or what?

No notifications on screen, just rollup right?

So here is a sample of Growl/Hardware Growl using 154 and 166Mb of Real Mem each. This time there weren't any rollup messages to come back to.

Alright, let's keep this thread about Growl and not HardwareGrowler. Especially since HardwareGrowler 2 is a complete rewrite and any troubleshooting will be moot soon. :)

Alright, so the samples that you sent really don't say much, and both are the same. I'll reply with something more useful as soon as I have something to help here.

What you are seeing here is different than what Gideon is seeing. This is from the networking portion, which is being rewritten due to the high cpu problem (that you are seeing). The hangs are also symptomatic of the same problem.

Your workaround for now if you run into this is to stop and start Growl. That'll clear up the problem temporarily until it reappears.

I'm having a similar issue.  No rollbacks as I have that turned off.

Growl 1.4 from the App Store using Starwl as the theme.  Only 500MB of memory used for me, but over 90% of CPU and some apps that used growl would HANG for a long time before their notification would come through.

Fully up to date Lion 10.7.4 on a mid-2009 MacBook Pro with 8GB RAM.  I've attached a sampling from before I killed the process.
