Hi,

I have purchased Growl on the app store and Notify Pro (Iphone).
Notify Pro works well with Growl for windows but not on my Mac.
Growl can't receive any notification coming from the PC.

The port 23053 is open on the Mac.

It's frustrating. Do you have any idea on what's going on?

Thanks a lot. Kind regards,

David

Can you toss me a link to notify pro?

Chris

Ah that's from Cydia. Please contact the author of Notify Pro and let him know that it's a problem. If he has questions he can contact us, preferably on our development list. :)

Yes Chris you're right, it's from Cydia.

But the fact are :
1 - Notify Pro works perfectly with Growl PC. Therefore Notify Pro
works perfectly.
2 - Growl PC can't transmit any notification to Growl Mac. In that
case, It's a question of Growl malfunction somewhere...
Are you sure that Growl listens the port 2053 on Lion?

Am I correct with my logic?

Thanks a lot. Kind regards,

David

We're aware that Growl for Windows expects certain things, and we don't have those in 1.3.1. However, that has nothing to do with Notify Pro.

If the Notify Pro developer determines that there is a problem with Growl and not his client, then he can contact us and we can help him through it. This would be the typical troubleshooting route for most items. :)

Hey Guys,

I developed Notify Pro, I've gotten a lot of bug reports with NP not working with Growl 1.3.

GNTP is supported in NP and works on Growl for Windows. I'm not sure what's wrong with Mac though. I don't have a Mac so can't test the issue that well.

This is a log someone sent me:

http://pastebin.com/gNU9g0Tj  -- Although I do send the Application-Name in both Registration, and Notification.

My implementation is based on this: https://github.com/psinnott/gntp-send/

Some help would be great.

How did you write an ios app without a mac?

Regardless, I'm unable to find your app in the iphone store to try it. Can you provide a direct link?

Oh right, this is on Cydia. So it looks like either you need to get a mac, or one of us needs to jailbreak our phones. I'm not really comfortable jailbreaking my phone.

Does notify pro require encryption?

Also, ask your user for that registration dictionary listed in their path, it may have clues.

Okay,

I'll see if I can get a mac to debug this on. Is there any other files i can take a look at? Is there a log file somewhere ?
