Hi Dom,
If you have bought Growl from the Mac App Store, two things :
- Growl is not anymore a Preference Pane but an App (it should be in the Applications folder of your Mac).
- There is not anymore a GrowlHelper.app (it was a part of Growl-before-MAS).
If you have installed Growl.app while Growl.Prefpane was running, do the following :
- close "App Store.app"
- open the "System Preferences.app", locate Growl, do a right click on it and click on the option "Remove from System Preferences"
(I don't remember if you need to confirm the removal but in case, confirm if you are asked to)
- once Growl.prefpane is in the trash, open "App Store.app", go to "Purchases", locate Growl (it should have a black "Install" button),
click the button, let it the time to install, find Growl in the Applications folder of your Mac and launch it to set your preferences.
Now, for Growl Helper, you have to simply find Growl.app in the list that opens and click the button to allow Growl.app to replace
Growl Helper.app (I am sorry but I am French and I don't remember the exact name of the button in english).
Hope that Have Helped You !
Michel
Hi, I recently had a hard drive failure and most everything is back to normal, but the system cannot find the Growl Helper App.
How do I reinstall Growl, when the App Store says I already have it installed?
Thanks
