Hello,

I have Growl 1.2.2 running on Lion and my notifications are delayed by around 50 minutes. I notice this behavior when previewing styles in the Growl pref pane and also in LimeChat (which helped me to approximate how long the delay is).

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Didn't we fix this on irc yesterday?

If you did indeed fix this problem would you be kind enough to post the solution in a public place?  I am experiencing the same lengthy delays for Growl alerts on many (but not all) applications and find it defeating the purpose of Growl altogether.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you might offer.  For the record I am also running 1.2.2 on Lion with all software updates completed.

Uninstalling and then reinstalling seems to work for most people.

Thanks for your reply, Chris. I will try that but would like to know
- does that mean that I'll have to re-setup all of my selections for
each application in Growl?

Not at all. Our uninstaller doesn't touch those settings.

Many thanks for your quick responses and help, Chris. The uninstall/
reinstall process (all made quite simple by the Uninstaller included
in the Growl package) seems to have worked. I haven't run through all
of my alerts yet so I can't say for certain but the first few appear
to be functioning normally again.

Whew! Thanks for your assistance.

I'm not sure why it happens, but since it's such an easy fix we haven't really investigated it. I can tell you that we have not seen it in the upcoming 1.3, which is just for 10.7.

Sorry to say that the delay has not been fully fixed. I am running
Boxcar and have it set as the default but the delays occur with alerts
set to use other styles, too. Just a little while ago I tried using
the Preview function for the Boxcar style and the alert appeared on
screen a full hour later.

1.3 can't come soon enough.
