Thunderbird and Firefox 17 no longer work with Growl

It looks like Mozilla is not sending alerts through the notification center and GROWL no longer works with these programs. Is anyone else seeing this?  The Actions or banners no longer appear, but the Mac OSX Mountain Lion Notifications have taken control.

Ya they are pulling support for some notification system that they have not yet made or something. It doesn't make much sense to me.

If you want to keep Growl in Firefox/Thunderbird, the only way to do that is to get people to comment about it.

 I have both Firefox and Thunderbird 17 working with Growl.  For Firefox I added the extension GROWL download Notification and turned off compatibility reporting. On Growl I installed GROWL notify and the extension Growl new Message Notification.  Unless Mozilla changes their mind we are back to extensions.
