Uninstalled Growl 1.2.2 with the uninstaller (Not Appzapp)

All programs in the application window are gone, nothing to select.
Closing and opening the program doesn't bring them back.

Please help, Think the free version was better as this paid one.

I think you mean Growl 1.3, but yes I have the exact same issue.

Yes, I uninstalled 1.2.2 and installed 1.3 no apps, no notifications

I just mounted the disk image for 1.2.2, and from the Extras folder installed "the extras". Apparently, Growl doesn't support some apps (I use GrowlMail, GrowlTunes and Hardware Growler). Once a "re-installed" the extras, Growler 1.3 seems to work just fine. It's basically - so far - a $2 upgrade for the same functionality. Given a choice, I would ask for a refund and stick to 1.2.2.

Growl supports any app that will talk to it.

No. Growl 1.3 adds support for GNTP, so it actually supports *more* apps than 1.2.2.

At some point, I expect that the Growl team will remove support for pre-1.3 Growl from the Growl framework, so applications that use the version of the Growl framework that removes that support will not work with 1.2.2.

We're currently working on the Extras which we can be published via the app store method. Things like GrowlTunes and HardwareGrowler fit that bill. GrowlMail and GrowlSafari do not for instance. As we already announced months ago, GrowlSafari has been retired, and GrowlMail has moved to be worked on but not by The Growl Project.
