Most likely it's some applescript that needs to be updated. Do you have any widgets or anything of that nature?

so - I just upgraded my mac from 10.6.8 to 10.8.2 (don't ask why it took so long). After the upgrade, I ran the growl uninstaller script, bought growl 2.0 on the itunes store, and installed that. Now I'm getting a request from some app to find growlhelperapp. I can't figure out which app is doing that. To troubleshoot this, I've uninstalled the new growl and re-ran the uninstall script. I'm still getting requests to find growlhelperapp. Anyone know how to:

1) find out which app is doing that

2) get rid of that stupid request window for ever

3) make sure that growl will work after I reinstall it?

Sorry - I didn't notice the reply. I killed all of the widgets running on my box and that wasn't it. I haven't been been able to correlate an event to the notification coming up. Is there some way to see what's kicking it off?

Ya I've been trying to figure out if there is a way to do that, but there isn't as far as I know. If I come up with some random idea I'll let you know though.

Hi Chris and Juan,

I have had this problem and the best way to solve this I have found is to redirect the call to "GrowlHelper" to Growl :

To do that when you are called for GrowlHelper.app, find Growl.app, click on it (to select it) and click OK to accept.

I don't remember the exact for the same reason I have already explained (I am french, use OS X in french and Growl too !)

But I never returned to the dialog !
