I recently downloaded 1.3 and noticed a lot of apps not working. After reading around I saw the Growl Version Detective which fixed a few of them. Unfortunately some of the apps have a message beside the upgrade button saying "can't upgrade because we don't have permission" which I think might be down to those apps having been purchased in the app store? Can anyone shed some light on this?

So with GVD we do not allow updating app store purchased apps currently out of concern about the security implications on the file system surrounding that. We didn't want to risk causing issues with the next upgrade of whatever application you purchased via the app store. So you are in fact correct about what applications show that message.

We're looking into it for a later version of GVD.
