Hello...first I want to say thanks for your excellent work on GfW. Prowl was the first app I ever bought for iPhone. I was going to use it to make a google voice text notifier but, but the time I got close to finishing that, GV was official on iPhone.

Anyway...I have since moved on to Android and have written an app on android using c2dm and a custom forwarder in Growl for Windows. I don't want to promote it here without your permission...but I did want to ask you what your criteria (if any) are for being added to your website and possibly packaging the forwarder with a future release of GfW?

Let me know when you have a moment...thanks!

Bob

I am interested in your app, Bob. I was *this* close to writing my own C2DM app for growl myself. I look forward to seeing yours.

Glad to hear you like the app and have found it useful.

Thanks for creating your app and being willing to share it with the community. Feel free to promote it here (looks like you already have at least one person interested). I know that getting notifications forwarded to a mobile device is always a highly-requested feature.

If you want to send me an icon (at least 48x48, preferably a .png), name of the app, and a little bit of a description, I will add a link to it on the GfW website. I can host the forwarder on the GfW site if you want, or you can host it somewhere and I can link to it. The advantage of you hosting it is that you can make changes and upload new versions, but either way is fine with me.

I will take a look and consider including it with a future release of GfW, but I cant guarantee anything. I am actually trying to move away from including any 'add-ons' with the main app and just have them be available separately. I included a few things like Prowl support that have worked out fine, but other things like Notify.io ended up going away and causing me to have to release a new version just to remove support. But it is not a hard-and-fast rule yet, so I will think it over.

Thanks again for offering to share your work - it is always appreciated.

Thanks for your quick reply. :)

I will package that stuff up for you and send it over. I appreciate it!

I have the forwarder hosted on my site already and don't have a problem keeping that way (and un-bundled). I agree that changes will be much easier to maintain that way.

The app is named "Squealer" and is in Google's Play store now. Searching for "Growl for Windows" will return it as one of the few apps that have something to do with GfW. My (currently functional but information-limited)  site for that app is www.squealerapp.com. Believe it or not I don't have a link to the app on my site...I'll add that tonight.

Thanks again,

Bob
