You don't say which links so it is hard to guess. Can you be a bit more
specific?
I am in two minds about the CSP situation. I am a huge fan of dataflow
approaches, CSP being one variant. The Groovy CSP system in GPars is a
wrapper around JCSP with some extra bits and pieces. It has remained
unchanged mostly because JCSP has. The problem here (for me anyway) is
that the people behind JCSP are not really interested in publishing and
maintaining it as software product – witness the fact that nothing has
happened in a decade.
I think having a builder to construct CSP process and channel networks
would make setting things up a lot easier. This would be true for the
Dataflow equivalent processes and channels as well. The biggest
downside of all the dataflow systems is the hassle of setting up the
channels and processes. GPars could do with much more work on this.
I am looking to get GPars 2.0 published, it's GPars with all the
ParallelArray stuff removed. This effectively requires JDK8 to get the
functionality back via the Streams, but then ther is now only JDK8 and
JDK9 coming so no problem there.
