Cutom Map with spreadsheet - API Key no longer available... :(

Hi Hi,

I want to use this service (creating a google map with spredsheet): http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/spreadsheetsmapwizard/makecustommap.htm

BUT, for that service I need an API key that is unfortunately no longer available. The website says: 

The Maps API requires a free API key that's associated with your Google Account and the URL of your web site. You can sign up for one here, and substitute it as the value of the "&key=" parameter in the script tag below. 

When you click "here", the upcoming website says, that you can't get this API key anymore. I don't know, if I can use another API key, or something??

When someone knows the answer or an alternative to create a custom map with spredsheet I would be very happy!!! :)
