Why Flash?

Can Google replace the Flash-based charts with a pure JavaScript
solution? The web is moving towards ubiquitous HTML/CSS/JavaScript
only websites. Now that we have HTML5 along with some amazing graphing
libraries, Flash should be a thing of the past.

Personally, I refuse to learn and use any proprietary platform or
language. Open standards are the only way I build applications.

Hi,

Google have all its graphs in pure HTML 5/SVG and JavaScript. Can you explain what you mean?

AKAIK, the only Flash charts built by Google (as opposed to user-submitted) that don't have a js alternative are the Annotated Timeline and Motion charts.

I knew Google is developing SVG version Annotated Timeline, but have no idea the current status.

Gotcha. I think I was looking at the motion chart. I'd really love to
have something like that work in pure JS (likely using SVG).
