Traffic Estimate Layers for specific days and times using Google Maps API v3

Hello.

Google Maps allows users to view traffic estimates by selecting the "traffic at day and time" radio button. Is it possible to add a traffic estimate layer for a specific time and day using Google Maps API or is the live traffic layer my only option?  If adding the estimate layer is possible, could it then be used to calculate driving directions?

You may retrieve traffic data using the Traffic Layer.  From the Google Docs: Traffic information is provided for the time at which the request is made.

I am afraid I wasn't being clear.  I am aware of the Real Time Traffic layer and how it can be added using the API.  What I want to know is if there a way to access the Predicted traffic layer from the Google Maps API?  In Google Maps I can select predictions from the traffic control, say traffic predictions for Wednesday at 1:30 PM.  Is there a way to even just add this traffic control using the Google Maps API?  Here is a link on Google Maps Traffic Predictions:

This feature wasn't available to the Google Maps API back in 2009:

I wonder if this is due to licensing (like with the transit layer).

Unfortunately traffic data is not available through an API at this time.
