Hello!

I'm the dev behind a gaming fansite called gw2cartographers.com. I'm using the google map API to render the ingame map (custom tiles). I'm currently experiencing high traffic ( > 25 000 / day), i was was wondering if I must be scared of being shut down because I'm exceeding the goole map API daily quota. If not, would putting a single ad banner on my website will tag me has a profit organisation? I mean, It's getting harder and harder to maintain performance while the website is growing, so I thought about ads to overcome hosting problems.

Thanks!

The FAQ,
(which is linked from the Terms, as being the defining document on usage limits)

Defines it differently. It specifically says: " Non-profits and applications deemed in the public interest "

Not sure a game could be classed as 'in the public interest' :(

But looking at your map, see nothing that particully requires Google Maps API. By your own admission, its entirely custom tiles. Even your 'infowindows' are custom, . Just use OpenLayers, or maybe Leaflet.js instead.
