I'm not seeing the satellite images for mapTypeId of HYBRID or SATELLITE if I use a zoom of 18 or greater... But a zoom of 17 and under works fine if I use the v3 SSL API. All zooms work fine using the http API. Is this by design?

Can you please include a link to your example?

Steps to recreate issue:

1) Follow link below
2) Scroll down to the first listing on the page and click the Map link located to the right above the listing in the light green bar.
3) You'll notice the map displays correctly using the http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false api.

http://www.housingflyers.com/search.html?location=encinitas%2cca&lowPrice=&highPrice=&bedrooms=&bathrooms=&sqFt=&lowYearBuilt=&highYearBuilt=&propertyTypes=housing%2fsale&miles=5&listingType=Buy&sortType=Location&listingFormat=Detailed&lat=33.03699&lon=-117.292&geoAcc=0&keywords=

Now change the link to https (same link below but over https)

1) Follow link below
2) Scroll down to the first listing on the page and click the Map link located to the right above the listing in the light green bar.
3) You'll notice the map isn't displaying the image at the current zoom level using the https://maps-api-ssl.google.com/maps/api/js?v=3&sensor=false api.
4) If you start to zoom out you'll start to see the images appear at a zoom level of 17.

https://www.housingflyers.com/search.html?location=encinitas%2cca&lowPrice=&highPrice=&bedrooms=&bathrooms=&sqFt=&lowYearBuilt=&highYearBuilt=&propertyTypes=housing%2fsale&miles=5&listingType=Buy&sortType=Location&listingFormat=Detailed&lat=33.03699&lon=-117.292&geoAcc=0&keywords=

The search results page I've used is usually served as http. I noticed the issue testing the secured portion of my site that requires https and using the v3 map api.
