Rename User Group With Multiple Domains

Hello,

Has anyone considered the challenge of renaming Google Groups within Google Apps when multiple domains are used?  For example, rename gro...@mydom.com to gro...@myotherdom.com.

I have also opened a support inquiry with Google, but they may redirect me back to this forum in the end anyway.  Thought I'd get a head start on that.

Hello Scott,

The Groups Settings Api does not include renaming of the group from one domain to another domain. It actually does not expose the email-id of the group as editable field at all. Also, Groups UI supports renaming a group, but even that does not support cross domain rename right now.

Creating a new group and copying the membership over wouldn't be that hard. The tricky bit is updated all the access controls in other services that make use of the group address.
