Here's what I'm trying to accomplish and I'm hoping that the
Provisioning API will allow it.
1-User comes to my site and register to a domain name (Not Google
related)
2-Upon confirmation of payment, I want to create for this new user a
GoogleApp account with the new registered user as the admin of that
account. I will create the MX records pointing to Google as part of
step 1 above.
3- User can now go to Google and access his email, create new users
etc. I'd like the Google App account to be created for them through
the API.
Everything that I'm reading about the API is related about Creating
new User Accounts under my domain name. I want to create 1 level
higher than that.
Can this be done?
It sounds like you're asking about a domain provsioning API. The
Provisioning API currently can only be used to provision users for an
existing Google Apps domain.
So I can get more feedback to pass on, would you be interested in
provisioning Standard Edition domains or Premier Edition? How many
domains do you think you would register (e.g. per month)? Would you
be able to work with the existing domain ownership verification
options? Thanks.

I would start by provisioning Standard Edition Domains. They would
then be able to upgrade to Premier Edition if they need it. We're
expecting to register a few hundreds domains a year. We are using an
API from an ICANN provider to verify if a domain name is available
before we register it. Once verified, we would register it at once
using the same API.

As I am creating the MX records to the DNS entries pointing to GMail,
isn't that proof of domain name ownership verification?
I know when I created my GoogleApps account, that's the only thing I
had to do for accessing my GMail. It would seem that GoogleApps is
happy and considered my ownership to be valid after my MX Records were
updated and pointing to you.
Are you wanting any more ownership verification?
Is there a possibility of adding this feature to your API?
Let me know.

Updating MX records is one way to verify domain ownership. The other
methods are described here:
http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/topic.py?topic=9196
Unfortunately we do not offer an API to initiate domain ownership
verification.
If you have a particular domain which is not verifying, you may want
to check out the Apps discussion group:
http://groups.google.com/group/apps-discuss
There is a sub-group dedicated to this issue.
