Random memcache errors

I'm seeing sporadic memcache errors on our app (wellaho-sanitas). Happened yesterday and just now. Basically, put would fail with errors like "Error setting single item" and no stats show up on the memcache viewer page. Everything starts working again after a few minutes. Any idea what's going on? These errors are preventing our users from logging in, so we need at least a workaround...would appreciate any pointers you can give!

Is it possible for you to catch the exception and gracefully handle the situation?

For what purpose are you using memcache?
