I'm looking at doing some web development to help pay my way through Uni, and I've been trying to find out if GAE is an appropriate platform to use as a... hosting provider provider I suppose. It seems very well suited to it.

For example, if a local business contracts me to build a site for them, would I be able to charge them for this service, and while I know I can't charge for hosting, can I charge for ongoing monthly maintenance or updates?

If I can do this, what's the best way to organize this? Should I build their website/app on my account, or should I get the customer to create an account and then push to that?

My apologies if this is answered somewhere, I spent some time searching and couldn't get a clear answer.

Totally okay. In fact, we encourage this. Some people here have had success with creating the account for their clients, and some have had success with having their clients creating an account. The only thing to keep in mind is that you have a 10 application limit per account, but we'll be happy to increase this for legitimate use. When the new pricing kicks in, you should be able to add new applications as needed because there will be a $9 baseline price for all billing enabled applications.
