"Verify Your Account by SMS" problem

Hi coders,

Having this problem trying to actually create an application. I've been playing with appengine fora few months but haven't actually uploaded any app yet - now when I go to appengine.google.com I get told to verify using my mobile phone - it says "The phone number has been sent too many messages or has already been used to confirm an account" and when I use another number it says "An error has occurred while sending. Please try again."

Anyone have any ideas? I'm in the UK so I expect it has something to do with that?

Perhaps you originally registered using another account. That is the
most common cause of this issue.

From the SMS FAQ, fill out the SMS Issues Form:

Thanks both!

As far as I know I have only used that number to verify other services on the same account. I do have a google apps account as well though so maybe it has been registered with that. Does seem a little over the top though.

I submitted the form you both sent me so hopefully they will get back to me soonish.

Out of curiosity, has anyone gotten back to you yet regarding your SMS form submission yet?  Just wondering what kind of turnaround time I should expect.

No, no news yet.

I'm slightly worried tbh because when I submitted the form I didn't get a confirmation page - it just sent me back to the appengine homepage. I don't mind waiting, just as long as I know they have my enquiry.

Did you get a confirmation, and when did you submit?

Ha, just as I wrote that last message, an email arrived saying that they have enabled my account for me.

Seems they will just take the fact that you filled out a form as enough verification.

Hope yours gets sorted soon.
