Here is a link to the documentation for the News Element/NewsShow.

However, I would point out that Google has apparently removed the Web Elements wizards from their site and the API underlying the NewsShow has been deprecated. Therefore, I would be extremely reluctant to implement the feature on a website at this point.

Hi.

I wish to work on Google News AJAX Search API to get some news on my website, but when i click on on "News element wizard" it redirects to default google.com page.

Well for beginners like me, a wizard would be excellent..can somebody point me out to the "wizard"?

Thanks.

Best Regards.

Thanks for replying jgeerdes.

The NewsShow still works well, but for how long?

If Google left the Web Elements information on their site, maybe its a "bug" on the url..i think if Google wish to remove the Web Elements, should inform on the site or remove completely the information..is there any way i can contact Google regarding this question?

But meanwhile, using Google RSS news is a more stable option or should i follow other way?

Thanks.

Regards.

Actually, the only part of the Web Elements documentation that I'm still seeing on the Google site is the FAQ. The "home" page and all others are redirecting to google.com. I would guess, therefore, that the one surviving page is a remnant which was simply missed in the process.

Re: contacting Google, there are several Googlers who regularly monitor this group. Perhaps they will chime in on the fate of the Web Elements.

Re: RSS news, you might find the Feeds API useful for this. However, given the dev team's focus on their new APIs, running on their new infrastructure, I would not be surprised to find the Feeds API deprecated at some point in the not-so-distant future. So I don't know that I would even rely on that.

The good news is that you could always roll your own feed-fetching/caching/parsing service. That would probably be the way I would go at this point.

You could limit the topic to health and search for 'child' or something along those lines. However, I think I would be extremely reluctant to use the News Search in a new site or application at this point. It has been deprecated and is slated to be discontinued no later than spring 2014. Instead, you might try using Google News to generate an RSS or Atom feed that searches for 'child' in the topic of health and then subscribe to that feed using the Feeds API.

Hello,
Is it possible to modify Google News AJAX Search API, such that it shows only child health news? I ask, because my site    concept is child health - http://www.childhealth-explanation.com/
