I was wondering if anyone can clarify why so many legislators in Vermont are designated "Democratic/Republican" as a party. I looked up a few of these legislators and they seem to be affiliated with the Republican party. Any help is greatly appreciated.

For some reason this is a common designation in VT, if you look at the source data: http://www.leg.state.vt.us/legdir/memberdata.cfm/memberdata.doc?FileType=W you'll see that they are listed as Republican/Democrat so we reflect the same.
