Watched this after listening to the live broadcast (travelling during the race) and was pleasantly surprised at how good this track is. After the half-arsed attempt that was Indy, CotA seems to have got it almost spot on. It seemed like a transformed driver list, lots of dicing, close racing, some fabulous wheel to wheel stuff and very little stupidity (I thiink DC was right about Grosjean, he needs to be calmed down and given some mind-therapy).
I'm prejudiced so the Alonso-Massa-Gearbox thing looked worse to me than it probably was. Objectively it's a cynical and deplorable ploy. Subjectively it had to be done and was clever, even if it meant Alonso's partner bending over, again and taking it. At least they had the good grace to not lie about it. Personally I think it stinks and makes F1 look bad, but worse has happened so...... Actually, what was worse to me was Sebs bitch-whining about back markers and a stupid overtake. Every week I think he's becomoing more likeable and mature, and then he does this!!! Try not calling people cucumbers and be nice to them, then they might move over for you. Hamilton called back markers Monkeys at the back and got pilloried for it. At least Monkeys are intelligent, comparing a driver to a vegetable that is, at best, ferts in a green skin is not gonna win you any prizes.
So, to Brazil. If it's fine and he poles it and there's no weather he'll do it. Whether it's in 1st or otherwise depends on McLaren. Specifically on Lewis' desire to go out with a win, which I'm sure he'll aim for. Outside of that we'll see, maybe we'll get another 2008 level finish but this time with Fred taking the accolade.
Overall a 10/10 weekend with only one dark cloud. Did I hear someone say that Rubinho is lookiing to come back to F1?
