Item name and description not showing in sales order and quotation

I have two installations one on my virtual machine and other on real server both are updated on 12/6/2012 from github.

I have a problem that the one on the real server is not showing the item name and description in the quotation and sales order while the other intallation is working fine and show item name and description when I select item from list.

Please advice.

Hi,

Its really difficult to tell without having a deeper look. Do you get an error messages? Have you hidden the fields?

No error messages, no hidden fields.

Shall I make update from github to pull latest update ? may that help ?

Or copy files from Virtual server to my real server ?

Always a good idea to move to the latest update, but its really hard for us to tell if we cannot replicate... Can't recollect seeing this specific issue.

For more calrity, the item name field and description are visible and in the table header but no data retrieved in those fields when I select the item.

It seems something wrong in the validations.

can I copy specific files for this from server to server ?

Hi HF,

Before doing anything else, go to Setup > Customize Form for the setup where you are unable to see Item Name and Description. Select Quotation Item. Here tell us what is the value in "permlevel" and "hidden" columns against "Item Name" and "Description" column.

If hidden is unchecked, go to Setup > Permission Manager, select Quotation and see if the given permlevel has read permission.

The perm level is 0 for both fields and the hidden is unchecked.

Also I working with administrator user so I have all permissions.

I have made update to erpnext folder from github (lib/wnf.py --update origin master).

After the update completed I can't access the application, I got an error on the html (Forbidden  You don't have permission to access / on this server ) what's wrong ?

Did you set owner of your repo folder as apache user?

Hi hf,

Please check erpnext install wiki page on github. You will have to change your apache conf file. See update section of that page for details.

Where is this repo folder ?

I have made on erpnext folder

chown -R www-data:www-data *     

(I don't find the files index.cgi , index.html, login-page.html) in the public folder and also not in github master ???)

Go to github.com/webnotes/erpnext/wiki
There will be a page abt installing erpnext.

In that page, see the update section. You will need to change your apache conf file.
