Hi,

I was recently going through the contributors list on github to erpnext and found out that there are very few contributors to the main erpnext code. There are people like me who can copy certain parts of available code in the existing system and modify the same to improve the current usage but the problem is that I am unaware about the usability of github. Hence I request any one in their free time to write a idiot's guide to contributing via github.

I know setup of erpnext guide is already there and I would like to have a procedure to get my code via github.

This should help you get started -

1. you first need to "fork" erpnext,
2. setup your fork on the local machine
3. set webnotes/erpnext as the "upstream"
4. make your changes
5. "commit" your changes
6. "update" latest updates from webnotes/erpnext
7. "push" your changes to your fork
8. send a pull request to webnotes/erpnext from your fork.

best,
Rushabh
