Logo with white text in blue field

Hello Eggies!

I am tracing a logo in Inkscape. The logo is blue and red, with all text in white. The text is surrounded by the colored field. I have not made a plot yet, but it seems to me forming text by negative space in a hatched fill is a big no no. I wonder if this has been previously discussed?

Thank you Lenore. I will see if I can apply those techniques to my text.

Its too bad the Eggbot extensions cannot perform some magic to detect a fill and automatically generate the pen movements to create that fill :)
