Hello,

first: Thx for your work. I am new to Haxe and found EclihX on search for a Helix-Eclipse-Perspective to learn to work with Helix using the environment I am familiar with .. and found it quite easy to get it to work.

What I couldnt figure out: You allways recomend to use the *trunk* fork - I would like to but but Eclipse does not accept the link you provide to be used as a software source. So, do I have to build EclihX from source to be able to use the *trunk* version? Or can you suggest any other way to use *trunk*?

Hello,

Thank you for your attention to eclihx project.

It should be possible to install latest version of eclihx using this
URL "http://download.eclihx.org/eclihx/updatesite/trunk" through the
standard "Install New Software..." dialog. If eclipse says that "there
are no categorized items" please uncheck the "Group items by
category". Hope it should help, but if I'm wrong don't hesitate to
write back :)

The thing I should warn you about that project is almost frozen for
now as there were no updates for a quite long time. So probably it's
worth to check out other more active alternatives. Please see the
http://haxe.org/com/ide page.

thx for u replay. I think I should follow your suggestion and will try out some other IDE - unfortuantely, your project is (after haxe homepage/ the link you provided) the onest plugin for eclipse and I stuck again (if you might be interested why, see below).

what was the problem:
to ensure clean install, I removed all software from eclipse (juno) associated with haxe (eclihx, fdt). afterwards I follewd your instruction to install eclihx (trunk). unfortunately, when it came to set up run configuration, there where no more option *haxe application* and I dont have a clue how to resolve this.

It's difficult to understand what's going on from this description. Do
other features of eclihx work? For example can you create a haxe
project, is there an item "haxe(Eclihx)" in Window->Preferences exist,
can you find eclihx perspective in "Open Perspective" dialog? Maybe
some errors could be found in log?

Hello Nikolay,

Sorry for this confusion - actually it would had been better not to write this (because I know it is not a precise error decription). Please allow me to ask for excuse therefor. I followed your suggestion to use some other, still mainained, tool linked @ haxe homepage and fond one I am happy with. I by myself cant reproduce the error - I just tryed with a new installation of eclipse-SDK-4.2.1-win32 and http://download.eclihx.org/eclihx/updatesite/trunk and got everything to work including opening the template window as described in your totorial but not the built-in code formatter - but this might be a more eclipse related problem (?).
