Hi all,

I currently find myself looking for a job.
Any pointers to Haskell minded shops that I can send get in contact with?

I live in Rotterdam, and come from Ruby-land but are determined to re-school myself to Haskell :)
(simply because I believe Haskell has solutions for some of the common problems I identified doing Ruby for a while)

Here's my resume...

Sorry if I ask something that exposes my ignorance of the Haskell-job-market-dynamics..

Have a nice day!
Cies.

Hi,

Posting here was a good idea, as we have several industry members on the list. Having an account at haskellers.com might help, and keep an eye out on websites advertising functional jobs [2, 3]. Also, make sure to come to the Dutch HUG day / hackathon [4], so you can get in touch with people using Haskell commercially, and learn more about the language!

Cheers,
Pedro

Hi Cies,

We're one of the 'industry members', although we're still small. We're
not looking for people right now, but if we were, it would be either
people we already knew through the Haskell community (either online or
through the Dutch HUG), or we would advertise on our blog, planet
Haskell, etc. Note that if you are willing to relocate, you might try
London, the US or Tokyo for functional programming jobs. Recruiters
from these places also tend to be active on LinkedIn and github, so be
sure to have a presence there.

thanks..

i saw your company/talks/website, even played with your product and noticed you're not hiring. :)

non the less thanks for the info..

my search is two fold:
1) i want to get better at haskell and programming in general by writing a lot of haskell (a job is a proper excuse for that)
2) im evaluating a move to haskell for a startup im working with (financial software for micro banks), par tof that eval is to find out what the labour market is like

cheers,
c.
