Hi Dave and fellow DMXIS users.

I recently purchased DMXIS to use live , with Cakewalk Sonar x1 as
the host program. I programmed a few scenes for some test songs,
triggered them with midi notes and all seemed fine. Having spent
several days programming a show I have a problem. For live performance
I use the Sonar Playlist feature. It seems that there is a limit to
the number of scenes that can be programmed into a show when running
as a vst instrument inside Sonar using the playlist feature before the
program will crash. Programming the scenes in Version 1.2 of DMXIS,
the limit is 671, regardless of how the banks are organised. Using
version 1.1.2, with it's slightly smaller preset size, the limit is
around 703 scenes. I have replicated this on 3 computers (2 x i7
Notebooks with 4gb of ram and 1 x Bootcamped Macbook Pro 2.2 with 2
gig of Ram, all running win 7 32bit )This is admitedly quite a lot of
scenes, but the problem doesn't stop there. Sonar loads the next song
on the playlist whilst the current one is running. Once there are more
than about 100 scenes in a show, no DMX data is output for the first
couple of bars of a song whilst the next song on the playlist loads.
The time taken for the DMX to start becomes increasingly longer as the
number of scenes in the show go up.

In short, the DMXIS plugin seems to make Sonar running a playlist
quite unstable.

Any guidance you could ge me on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.
Kind regards,
Bruce.

I have exactly the same issue.  on top of that, each new song reloads the entire preset library, and takes FOREVER.  I have a quad-core and 8 gigs, it should just smoke.  Only thing smoking is me.

Bruce!  Thanks!!!!  I'm feeling like...DUH....I have been using LoopBe for virtual merging for some time now.  Should have thought of that.
