Hi,

Does anyone have any advice on whether to use Solr or elasticsearch with Haystack?  As I understand it, Solr is more stable and has a longer history, but elasticsearch is easier to use (no building schema files).  What else should I be aware of when choosing between the two?

Thanks,

Brett

Solr has been very reliable for me with 500K+ documents on modest hardware. I wouldn't let the schema thing deter you from trying it out; its not that big of a deal if you are generating it using the haystack command. I use tomcat to run it which I thought was more of a pain to figure out (I had never been exposed to tomcat before) than the actual solr config.
