Specifically for gene synthesis.

From the looks of things, the experience is nothing more than a web
form for uploading your sequence and vector of choice, codon
optimization options, etc... then waiting.

From what I've heard it's hit or miss if any of the companies can
deliver your sequence, depending on AT/GC ratio, homopolymer
sequences, weird hairpins/loops that might form during synthesis, etc

That said, they all also claim to use sequencing to verify the final
product, so in any case I wouldn't expect errors if the tube ever
arrived in my mailbox.

I haven't entered my credit card info though personally, still too
expensive for my tastes.

i have ordered four things from them 542bp, 494bp, 467bp, and 506bp at one time .  the order was started by them on 9/27 and i received the order on or around 10/10.   they cloned them into puc57 and sent 4ug, 10ug, 10ug and 10ug of plasmid back to me.  (i believe that if you want you can send your own plasmid and they will put it in there for you for a fee.) they sequence verified things and also did restriction digests to show fragment sizes.  i resequenced them and they were fine.  i was satisfied with the experience.  i think it was around $840 w/ shipping and handling.  hope this helps.

please note three of these were ORFs and one was a somewhat common transcriptional regulatory element, so they may have just amplified them up from libraries/clone they had on hand or from a previous order....anyway, it was cheaper than buying the ORFs outright from another vendor.

I got my Halophage origin of replication from them to be synthesized, and overall they are a good company I think. Perhaps you could get it cheaper using gBlocks from IDT though.

The super-cheapest way is actually by invitrogen, they do 1kb for 150.  I think g blocks are like 500 bp for $99. Thats 15c/bp vs ~20c/bp.

they also do up to 600 pb for $99, so if you have a 1k2 synthon, you can get it for only $200! Provided you want/can ligate and sequence.

Way easier just to have it synthesized for 28c/bp (genscript sale)!
