Yesterday..

"On February 5, 2013 Representative Jared Polis (D-CO) introduced the “Ending Federal Prohibition of Marijuana Act of 2013.”

Rep. Polis’ bill would end federal marijuana prohibition and let states decide their own marijuana policies without the threat of federal interference, and would set up a regulatory process – similar to the one for alcohol – for states that decide to legalize. Specifically, the bill removes marijuana in any form from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act, adds marijuana to the sections of the U.S. code governing “intoxicating liquors”, and transfers Federal marijuana jurisdiction from the Drug Enforcement Administration and gives it to the newly-renamed Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana, Firearms and Explosives."

Please speak up and have your opinion heard by your Congress Representative. Cannabis was shown to be have effective anti-tumor properties by the National
Cancer Research Institute in March of 2010. Earlier this year reports from studies were released that were shown that the smoking of cannabis was beneficial to cigarette smokers that had developed lung cancer. Help empower researchers and the public to understand the mechanisms involved by ending Federal Prohibition and allowing individual states to craft their own policies in how they would like to deal with this beneficent plant.

Thanks,

Ryan

I think you'd have more success with your representatives by simply
pointing out that the enforcement of prohibition has *assisted*
organised crime, in exactly the same way that Alcohol prohibition did,
than by referring to science.

If representatives cared a damn about science, well..

Deprecating the ATF acronym is going to confuse unlearned rap
listeners in the future
"
Boom, boom, boom, 'open the door, ATF'
To late to send my girl downstairs
To say he left
"

It's not enough to just find-replace all these references with ATMFE,
as you can see the ending 'F' in ATF rhymes with the 'eff' sound in
'left'...
