A repository for your Trials and Errors

Hi Everyone,

We are in the process of creating an open access, citable, online scientific repository called as Journal of Errology that seeks to provide a peer reviewed medium for all the unpublished trials and errors associated with successfully published papers. We are also integrating Total - Impact factor to help you increase your online impact with each submission. 

I can not link the web address of the site, since Google keeps deleting my posts, please do a google search for Journal Of Errology. Submission are completely free and you can make sure you get all the credit for the work you have done.

What actually can you share on Journal of Errology?

We want all those hypothesis that did not go as planned, with all its results and your conclusions. If you are not sure about the conclusions, then you can let others suggest you the conclusions. We also require all your iterations and shortfalls. Shortfalls are those experiments that give a positive result, however are not quite up to the mark to be mentioned. We are also open to publishing mini-findings/ mini-papers that do not fit into other conventional journals. Please do feel free to contact us using the contact us page on the website or even this Group post.

Excellent! I've always known the fictional name of this mythical Journal to be Acta Retracta, good to know it actually exists.

I'm interested in the review process. Assuming repeatedly failed repetitions of published 'successful' work or re-evaluation of past predictions there is going to be ample opportunity for 'legitimate' work (or even fields of work) and claims to be judged as an error. Isn't there a chance of transforming (or degenerating depending on your POV) into a 'Rotten Tomatoes' for science?

Having spent years in SNP research and seen a large number of biotechnologies over-hyped and under-deliver, I must say I think your 'How Research Really Goes' plot is woefully optimistic (e.g. interleukin 2 and interferons in general, mAb therapy, SNP genotyping, Embryonic Stem Cells, etc.). If science were really about honesty and the truth, Journals like this would overwhelmingly outnumber and outweigh Nature and Cell. The fact that they're largely fictional means most contemporary science is the very definition of Feynman's 'Cargo Cult' variety. Science has a bad habit of 'telling the truth' while keeping quiet about it's failures, thanks for trying to tip things back in the right direction.

I know where you are coming from. When I started this journal, my aims too were modest and I wasn't hoping for a deluge of submission. But I believe that something like this is very necessary, it helps to avoid the question that every researchers asks himself about the originality and substance of an hypothesis.  However, like you mentioned, most researchers think that this this is a fictional journal and hence those few who might submit are too backing away from it. I hope you can help me change that. 

I like the point that you have raised about Reviewing articles, I too think this is a problem, gotta figure out when we get submissions such as you have mentioned above.

However, I do require a little help from you. I need a few submissions, I need worthy submissions that can help prove that we are a genuine repository and set the tone for the kind of articles that will come. I wanna make failing cool, and also create a way for recruiters to be able to see the full potential of a candidate based on his futile hypothesis (Innovators4Hire).  I would like to request you to help me here. Being an entrepreneur, I know very few researchers, which has proven to be problematic to me. I would request you to submit a few articles your self and push other researchers to submit too.
