Hey guys, we had a pretty good meeting this morning with the team from the World Bank. It was great to hear the insight shared Giorgio and Pablo, the openness and the content was really refreshing. One thing that stuck out for me was the case study that Giorgio shared with us around the digitizing of files in Argentina which is many times the size of ours and with 5 times as many people, it made me really think this is possible for us here in Jamaica. I'm inspired...

I always leave these meetings with inspiration.  The example he gave with Argentina was really inspiring and I think we could work together to make digitizing files in Jamaica a reality.  I know a team who had the same idea but it was specific to the health sector.  I'm not sure why they dropped out but they're continuing with their project.

If the team is working with the health sector.  It will take a very long time for it to become mainstream.  Most public sector medical personnel resist the use of technology.  They still believe the only and best way to handle all cases is face-to-face with the patience's file in hand.  But it's great to hear that some work is being done.

Government needs a project like this.  There are computers in most offices but they are under-utilized.  Most are used for word processing.  Then the document is printed and placed in a manilla folder and filed away.
