UI2 feedback - Help us improving the new dcm4che-arch-light UI

Hi,

as you all probably know in the new version (5.10) of the dcm4chee-arc-light we have the angular 2 version of the web - UI too, (http://host:8080/dcm4chee-arc/ui2).
Help us improving the usability of the new UI by giving us feedback or by discussing the new UI fetchers and usability.

Hi this is a great Idea,
I just installed the new version via the docker mechanism, and is working fine,
This is the first time, and coming from the 2.x version, we have in our hospital, it is a great pleasure, not only for the eyes.
I think that :

• one functionality that I need is the possibility to export to another node or local file selected studies, I cannot find this possibilty, I can save a single dicom object.
  

 there are some minor problems:

• when I select the ae title in study I have some rubbish in the selection, see image dcm4chee1.png.
  
• in control tab I can see status button but when I press it I do not have any repsonse, maybe if the info is already there (Archive is running) remove the button.
• when  I verify the storage commitment, there is an error in the message (see image dcm4cheefail.png

Regarding your points w.r.t UI2

- one functionality that I need is the possibility to export to another node or local file selected studies, I cannot find this possibilty, I can save a single dicom object. - currently you can select the whole study (containing multiple series/objects) for exporting to another destination. Server side code does not support currently to export multiple studies at a time.

- when I select the ae title in study I have some rubbish in the selection, see image dcm4chee1.png. - try refreshing your page and also cache and check once. If the problem still persists we will look into it.

- in control tab I can see status button but when I press it I do not have any repsonse, maybe if the info is already there (Archive is running) remove the button. - TBD (to be decided)

- when  I verify the storage commitment, there is an error in the message (see image dcm4cheefail.png) - if you are referring to spelling mistake that is seen in the message, it will be fixed with next release.

I still do not find the icon to send the data to another node ,
I can select the study (see image) but I do not find the export icon or button.

I use Firefox ESR 45.8 on Solaris , I tried to clean the cache or restart the browser and the problem stillremain, but if I use Linux there is not such problem.

Hello,

From the image you attached it looks like you are trying export on patient level. You need to select on study level and then export. If you hover your mouse over the icons you will find export icon.
Regarding the point that the problem still persists - is it the AE title with extra text you mean??

I think it is an usability problem, in version 2.x is so simple and here I do not find how ..., and this is an operation that we frequently use in our practice.
I attached a new image, tell me please how to do a study level query, I supposed I have to select the Study icon from drop down menu.
I find out another usabilty issue, whe I have something  in clipboard, like an accession number and I paste into a field with CTRL-V, A warning message comes out saying that clipboard is empty (maybe it is another clipboard that wants a cut copy or merge operation first) I suggest to use another keyboard combination not equal to system commands.
Also the lack of ability to edit an AE title, after creation, is annoying, I have to delete and recreate it, or use the Apache directory editor.
Regarding the problem that still persist, Yes is the extra text, And I suppose is a problem related to my platform

Hello,

The export icon is enabled if you have exporters configured in your archive device configuration in LDAP. Looks like you have imported the default-config.ldif in your archive. You can import the sample-config.ldif which has the exporters pre-configured or you can add one of your own. You can refer this link : http://dcm4chee-arc-cs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/networking/config/exporter.html which has explanation for all attributes that you can add to an exporter.
 Once you have the exporters in your LDAP, reload the archive configuration and the icon should be enabled. If its still missing try clearing your cache/cookies and recheck.

Ok I did it now I see the ICON , after importing the sample-config.ldif.

I must say that all this configuration via LDAP is very tricky and uncomfortable, but I hope for the future.

I tried to modify the STORESCP entry by clone it on APACHE editor but with no success it does not show in the exporters..
I will try again tomorrow .
I tried to login with google authenticator and it works , it is a great feature.

There will be no need for configuring exporters for sending stored objects to other DICOM nodes via  C-STORE in next version (s. https://github.com/dcm4che/dcm4chee-arc-light/issues/617 ). Configuring the external device with one AE and one connection - which is already quite comfortable with the existing UI (Devices -> AE List -> +) -  will be sufficient.

I think it's not a good Idea to hide the button if the archive is running, because it's is used as "reload status". What we can do is, show a message every time you click the status-button, I opened an issue for that.

I finally succeeded in creating an exporter, and it works, i had issue with filesystems declaration, when I installed the docker image the default fs1 was in :
/storage/fs1
after the import of sample-config.ldif in
/opt/wildfly/standalone/data/fs1

And the dcm4chee did not find the images anymore,
The LDAP is powerful but dangerous.

Hi,

regarding the Warning "The clipboard is empty" I opened an Issue, we will check that (Thank you for your report)! Regarding the shortcuts, we added them on the previous version, and we saw that many people have difficulties finding (that functionality) and using them, so we added the buttons and the check-boxes (thanks to @Björn Albers feedback) (see the image) too. We didn't remove the shortcuts because there are probably users that are used to use them.

(You could install the dcm4chee-arc-light on some local machine using the docker for Example, and you can play around with that, hear is our wiki)

Today  I tried to add support for weasis and I followed https://github.com/dcm4che/dcm4chee-arc-light/wiki/Invoke-Image-Display
but when I try to import ldif file trought Apache Studio I get an error (Record is invalid : Record must contain attribute value lines), i find out that the cut and paste does not work due to the "-" symbol , substiuting it by hand gave me a result ok .
But still I do not see the eye icon, Am I missing something  ?

I do not see the Modality Worklist console (like in V2), do you plan to implement it ?

I do not see the Dashboard either (like in V2) do you plan to implement it ? We used a lot for making reports on storage composition.

As a curiosity, do you use the java the  JAI Image IO 1.2 libraries, in order to support compression ? This is not an issue for me since they work very well and the extra velocity can be achieved with more cores.

It seems that it will work differently after the fix. Something useful would be to let have variables for reusing the scheme/hostname/port. For instance:

• ${scheme}://${hostname}:${port}/weasis-pacs-connector
  
• jnlp://${hostname}:${port}/weasis-pacs-connector (=> will allow to use the new JavaWebstart mechanism to execute from any browser)

Yes I tried it, and it works, I tried

but I had to recompile the weasis pacs connector from  github.

And add the http://Ipofserver/  in the security tab of java control panel, due to an error of unsigned jar file.

yes but weasis works on the client side.
