Proposed router and table for the space

This is what I've been working on lately--it is a router table with a nice insert and a router to go in it.  The base is an old Speedqueen clothes dryer (front access) and the black top is the deck from a treadmill (it is slick/slippery).  Assembly is not complete: the black top is not attached nor is there a hole in the dryer top yet. I also plan to make the door opening square and build a shelf for inside. There is not yet provision for a fence or dust collection.  The base (old dryer) is pretty sturdy as it is and there is room for a bunch of concrete blocks inside to really make it solid.  (In this picture the router is up side down.)

This is a better view of the router, insert, and table top; the white rectangle in the center is where a hole needs to go in the dryer top.  I propose to bring this and a set of bits to the 'space for all to use.  Shall I continue?  Where do we want it?  I propose selling the dish washer and putting this router table there.  Please comment. Dan

I think the location where  the dishwasher is would be a good home for this, but I believe the dishwasher is a member's and not the space's.  So, we should check with him (it's Jason's I think) before we do something like sell it.  If I recall correctly, he wanted some parts from it (and others might as well).  Maybe it should become the subject of a demill Monday (assuming we find out what people want extracted from it).

Dan,

Once again you amaze me with your ingenuity.  I would absolutely love this down at The Diode.  But, yes, we have to find/make room.

I'll be there today (Saturday, the 13th) from about 10:00 am to 12 noon.

JJ and buddy,

       Thanks for your assistance in getting the base molding cut for my basement fix up project Saturday morning.

Without your help I may have had to visit lowes to buy more molding. the idea for top fence was ideal.

I have not nailed the sucker to the wall yet -  still waiting for paint to dry. Will nail it Monday or Tuesday.

Hey John,

You're welcome!  That task last Saturday is a perfect example of something that seems like it's a one-person job, but it really really goes smoother with an extra pair (or two) of hands.  That molding was pretty long and flexible, and just didn't want to stay put on the table saw.
