Hello,

How are we to access any IPv6 addresses as they may not be supported by our respective ISPs?

Thank you.

I recently accessed this site, but I only have a url for the specific site that I am trying to access. Unfortunately, tunnelbroker requires and ipv4 before making an ipv6 tunnel. Any suggestions on how to get around this? Also, most standard url look up sites haven't been able to reverse look up the url for an ip.

I'm kind of confused by your question. Please elaborate.

So the site that was recommended for accessing ipv6's in the first place was http://tunnelbroker.net/. Once you have an account, you can make a tunnel if you have provided an ipv4. However, in this case, I only have a url and cannot get a valid ip for it. The site exists, but no site can find an ip for it. Can I create a tunnel to this site (which we assume is an ipv6) using tunnel breaker?

When you setup a new tunnel, the ipv4 address its asking for is your own.

Thanks for that clarification. So from there, can we just replace the computer's currently used ip (an ipv4) with the new ipv6 provided? I would be changing it in system preferences, network (mac).

There is a tab that gives you example configurations to setup the tunnel. Check out this screenshot.

Instead of using apple airport, I am using the command line instructions given for mac users to paste into terminal. Is there anyway to tell that an ipv6 has been successfully established once I have copied the text into terminal?

When I try to create a tunnel using the terminal commands for a mac, I receive this:
route: writing to routing socket: Network is unreachable
add net default: gateway 2001:470:7:3b4::1: Network is unreachable

This occurs immediately after the last line of input to terminal. Any suggestions on resolving this?

I believe you're setting  this up incorrectly. Send me a screenshot via email (not the discussion group) so i can take a look.

I sent the email showing what I encounter when trying to create a tunnel.
