Hey there Matthew,

Well you came to the right place.

Have a breeze through the google group for sure.
Also, check out Deskmag, the coworking magazine: http://www.deskmag.com/

And, if you are working to build up a bit of a community - you should
definitely be a part of Worldwide Jellyweek - kind of an open
coworking day around the world - find a space, and invite people to
work independently together! http://jellyweek.tumblr.com/

Hope this is a good start.

Cheers,

Julianne

Wow, thank you, thank you very much. Also, are there any resources on
this page that you recommend?

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=CoWorking&x=0&y=0

Also looking for some nuts and bolts to this: start up costs,
management, etc...

Here is a great resource for you I think. Lots of results from our
Global Coworking Survey. Click on the picture in the story for some
statistical graphs.

http://www.deskmag.com/en/the-birth-of-coworking-spaces-global-survey-176

And this story, also a report on the survey states: it costs 'an
average of US$58,000 or €46,500' to open a space
http://www.deskmag.com/en/how-profitable-are-coworking-spaces-177

Good luck!

hello Matthew,

I have been working with friends in California, Florida , Colorado and Massachusetts, among other places, on a project called SpaceStation:Creation, which interacts with a number of other organizations and projects related to co-working, physics, entrepreneurship, permaculture, documenting social change, etc.  I have recently been doing a lot of research and networking about co-working spaces, especially here in Austin  I have made some great contacts in the world of co-working, incubators, and entrepreneurship, and they are all interested in working together to apply more minds to the process of facilitating creativity and productivity.  I recently finished an entrepreneurship with the Austin Technology Incubator and I have connected with the ACC Creative Incubator and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as the World Improvement Network and several other neat projects in the region.  Let me know if you'd like to grab a cup of coffee or feel free to email or call, maybe we can set up a meeting with some of these folks I mentioned:)

Hope you have a nice day,

Stephen M. Roberts

We ( http://www.shareddesks.net ) could help you in case you need to do some research.

Hey Matthew,

I'd also check out the books that Angel and Beth wrote on getting started in the coworking world- you can find them at the bottom of the Cohere website: http://coherecommunity.com/. They're worth the download!!

Best,
Susan

lots of opportunities for discounts on the ebooks.
