Looking for PTFE Tube for thermistor and resistor

Hi folks,

I just broke the resistor lead on my J head.

I have a new set of heads ready to build up from Tom at Extrude 3D, but, he doesn't seem to sell the really small PTFE tubing to cover the thermistor and resistor leads.

I can get some from China, with the usual 3 week wait, but didn't really want to wait that long.

I am looking for some 0.5mm ID for the thermistor, and 0.8 - 1.0mm for the resistor.

Does anyone know where I can grab some locally, or in Oz with a decent shipping time?

I can't make it to the Monday nights any more, as my Scouts have changed to Monday nights.  :-(

Instead of PTFE tubing you can just use kapton tape or Teflon tape either will do the job. Kapton tape is in stock at Altronics in Springvale and Teflon tape is common plumbers’ tape that you can get anywhere.

Thanks Rob.

During my search for PTFE, I did see reference to plumbers tape, but, was far from 100% sure that all plumbers tape was teflon.  I have heaps of the stuff lying around, and now that you have identified where to grab some Kapton tape, I'll be back in business by tonight.

If in doubt with the plumbers tape you can just do the soldering iron test to make sure it will handle the heat.
