Howdy,

I was browsing through the Coursera catalog. For those not in the know they are free online courses provided by universities around the world. Anyways, I came across https://www.coursera.org/course/programming1 an introduction to programming using python 3, starting 24th sep. and I thought it might interest some of you, particularly RasPi people. There are actually a number of courses available which might be of interest to people such as ourselves including one called 'control of mobile robots' https://www.coursera.org/course/conrob scheduled for jan next year.

Cheers,
 Zac

I did the 'probabilistic graphical models' one, which is somewhat
relevant - it was very good too. There is a machine learning one
running at the moment.

Great stuff.

For those interested in Python as a language I can thoroughly recommend Learn Python the Hard Way by Zed Shaw - http://learnpythonthehardway.org/

Coursera is excellent and if  you're into that sort of thing I'm doing some Udacity stuff as well (udacity.com) on differential maths which was a bit rusty after a lot of years not using it. Their robot car course was great as well.

Cheers
Andrew

I haven't had a deep look at it but http://www.codecademy.com/learn is free and online.
